About the event
John Marcellus "Tex" Moore (1865–1948) was an American painter, cowboy, and Texas Ranger recognized as the "Official Cowboy Artist of the Lone Star State" in 1935. A self-taught artist, he specialized in Western genre scenes and landscapes, often depicting Montana, Wyoming, and Texas scenery, and was encouraged by Frederic Remington.
